East Lake Cabin Build

Two awesome things happened this 4th week of our Lake House Build. First our Footings are in and they look great.  Second, 12 years ago we found a super rare flower/plant (Lady Slipper see pic below), this week we found another 20 feet from the first sighting.

  🙅No movement, waiting on Concrete footings and walls.

  Week 2: Mark and dig down 4 feet 4 inches for footings and walls.  Four hours with backhoe and three days hand digging. Now time to call the concrete guy.

 First Week in May:   Remove old concrete footings, some are 3.5 feet deep.  Two days and they are gone, ready to dig new footings.  Found an old Beer bottle under one of the footings.  The Date embossed on the bottom is 1955. That makes the old footing 68 years old.

 After Camping at our East Lake property for 12 years we started building a 1260 sq ft cabin this year (2023).  Please follow along as we will try and post once a week on our progress. Here are the current drawings with the County Building Dept.
